The geographical representation of the area is seen towards the center right of the map in the form of a circle. The border of this circle is the limit of the jurisdiction of Teozacoalco. There are 44 glyphs on the outer boundary representing the communities found in this realm. The city of Teozacoalco is visible in the left middle of the circle with its church and plaza. A caption identifies the city as well as a description of the central houses as "Estas son las casas de don Felipe y de don Francisco su hijo, señores naturales de este pueblo." The geographical representation of the area is dotted with rivers, roads, and mountain ranges. Glyphs of animals and prominent mountains are visible. There are sixteen towns identified with either a church-like structure or a toponym and a corresponding caption listing the towns names in both Spanish and Mixteca. Some of the towns depicted include San Miguel (Cunama), San Felipe (Nundaya), Santa Cruz (Yuhuyuhua), Santo Tomás (Yutaniño), and others, each including the distance in leagues to the administrative capital of San Pedro Teozacoalco. The left part of the map is a historical genealogy of the people of the region. The left two columns are outside of the geographical circle while the third column is laid within the geography, connecting the two parts of the manuscript. The genealogy depicts the marriages or unions between members of the region over generations. According to scholar René Acuña, the genealogy represents the unions from AD 972 through 1580, the year the map was created.
