HUD’s comprehensive planning assistance program, authorized under Section 701 of the 1954 housing act, provided two-thirds matching grants for planning by small towns and later metropolitan areas and states. By 1981, the 701 program was defunct. Reports include geographic locations in the United States, Australia, Canada, Columbia, England, Europe (Eastern), France, Germany, and Guam.
