Prominent geographical features include multiple rivers, lakes, salt flats, and multiple mountain ranges. The map depicts many neighboring towns that fall within the jurisdiction including Xalapa, Tepeguazontlan, Suchitlan San Vicente, Camotlan, Amatitlan, and about two dozen others.
