American backed newspaper published weekly in Granada, Nicaragua during a period of increased American interests in Nicaragua and the beginnings of the Filibuster War of 1855-1860. It is published in both English and Spanish. This particular issue contains an update from the United States showing interest in supporting William Walker and Nicaraguans in their fight against the Costa Rican army, promotions and appointments within the Nicaraguan army, and troop and maritime happenings. Also includes a list of mail remaining at the post office in Granada, a report from Washington D.C. detailing conversations about the situation in Nicaragua, and news blurbs from the East Coast of the U.S. and California. The Spanish language portion of the issue includes several decrees and articles from the Nicaraguan government, an article calling for no British intervention in the American continent, and an article denouncing the royalist supporters Pedro Joaquín Chamorro and Fernando Chamorro. | Vol. 1, No. 30
