Description:
Visual representation of Muchitlan, which is contained within the Relación de Tistla y Muchitlan. Created by an unknown indigenous artist, the map only represents Muchitlan and its surrounding communities, which are near the Mines of Zumpango and in the Diocese of Tlaxcala. The map places Muchitlan in the center of the map and shows twelve smaller towns that fall within the jurisdiction of Muchitlan. Each town is depicted with a dwelling and to the left of the dwellings are the glyphs representing each community. The 12 communities depicted are San Agustín Yohualtianquizco (San Agustín Yohualtiaquizco), San Francisco Ahuatlacotlan (San Franco Ahuatlacotlan), San Miguel Huitzquauhtzinco (San Miguel Huitzquauhtzico), Santa María Mictlantzinco (Santa María Mictlatzico), San Juan Tliltzapoapan (San Ju Tliltzapoapa), San Agustín Citlanapan (San Agustín Citlanapa), San Andrés Quauhtamaltitlan, San Pedro Coaixtlahuacan (San Po Coatlahuacan), San Pedro Tlacontintlanapan, San Miguel Quauhxilotlan, Santa María Chichilan (Sata María Chichilan), and San Lucas Tepexocotlan (San Lucas Tepeocotlan). Underneath each town name is a box showing the number of tributaries or population associated with each community. Also shown are roads or footpaths connecting the different towns to Muchitlan. Created in response to question ten listed within the relación geográfica questionnaire for Tistla y Muchitlan.
