Title:
Cluster of distant houses with tree and windmill in center
Description:
Unknown house, Northeast and Northwest Texas, exterior | Cluster of distant structures including a single story clapboard house with front porch and cut-stone, exterior chimney, adjacent to or connected with another single story building with porch, and a cement block structure with possibly a water tank on top. The water tank is obscured by a large tree near center frame, and a windmill stands on the other side of the tree. A picket fence with rough-hewn posts lines the front of the dwelling while the foreground is grassy expanse. | From a series of unique photographic images, which Williams took on his travels through central Texas in the 1920s, showing examples of vernacular architecture. Williams donated the negatives to the UT's School of Architecture in 1961 and they were subsequently transferred to the Alexander Architectural Archives.
