French Legation, Austin, exterior | Porch with doubled, square columns and lattice trellis, partially obscured by shrubs on either side of the path to the front steps. Porch contains a rocking chair and bench, and the facade is clapboard siding and screened doors with decorative trim. Two chimneys and three dormer windows are visible on the shingle roof. | From a series of unique photographic images, which Williams took on his travels through central Texas in the 1920s, show examples of vernacular architecture. Williams donated the negatives to the UT's School of Architecture in 1961 and were subsequently transferred to the Alexander Architectural Archives.
