Title:
Corner angle of a single story brick house with shingle roof, front portico, and brick window arches
Description:
Unknown house, Central Texas, exterior | Corner angle of a single story brick house with shingle roof, soffit trim, front portico, and back porch at least partially enclosed with wood planks. The windows and door are topped with brick arches. There is a chimney visible, a ladder leaning against the back porch wall, and a rocking chair visible on the front portico. The lower portion of the exterior walls is discolored and missing several bricks, and the portico is partially covered in vines. Part of a multi-story commercial building can be seen behind the house, along with the top of a water tower and utility pole with crossarms. Construction debris lies scattered on the ground behind the porch. | From a series of unique photographic images, which Williams took on his travels through central Texas in the 1920s, showing examples of vernacular architecture. Williams donated the negatives to the UT's School of Architecture in 1961 and they were subsequently transferred to the Alexander Architectural Archives. | Note: location possibly Waco, Moody, Belton, Lampassas or Georgetown
