Small stone house with small shed, work bench, and possible chicken coop
Title:
Small stone house with small shed, work bench, and possible chicken coop
Description:
Unknown house, Central Texas, exterior | Small stone house with very small wood and stone shed or outbuilding built against the side of the house, adjacent to the exterior of one of the two stone chimneys on either end of the house. The shed is accessed via an exterior door, and a workbench with sundries stands next to the shed. To the right of the house, a large tree with numerous hollows near its base appears to form part of an enclosure for small animals, possibly a chicken coop. What appears to be a cat and some chickens can be seen on the ground between the tree and a house doorway. A small ladder leaning on the tree appears to lead up to a tree hollow. | From a series of unique photographic images, which Williams took on his travels through central Texas in the 1920s, showing examples of vernacular architecture. Williams donated the negatives to the UT's School of Architecture in 1961 and they were subsequently transferred to the Alexander Architectural Archives. | Note: location possibly Fredericksburg, Castroville, or San Antonio
